Hydrovac Operator – Regina

We are currently seeking a Hydrovac Operator – Regina. This position will be based out of Regina, SK however travel may be required as services extend throughout the province.

As a Hydrovac Operator, you will be responsible for the successful completion of hydrovac excavation projects including utility line exposure, debris removal, slot trenching and digging, and excavation of sensitive underground piping and cables. You will also provide job site shovel work and other related tasks in order to accomplish project milestones in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.

Description:

  • Operate equipment safely
  • Keep equipment and vehicles clean and in safe/working order
  • Responsible for the successful completion of hydro excavation projects including utility line exposure, slot trenching, and soft digging
  • Set up and inspect grounding and/or bonding procedures for hydrovac operation
  • Set up and inspect grounding and/or bonding procedures
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Comply with company policies and procedures
  • Maintain and use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment and specialized safety equipment
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Must possess valid Class 1 driver’s license with Air Brake Endorsement
  • 1 – 3 years previous Hydrovac experience
  • Able to lift heavy loads (50+ lbs.) and able to work in a variety of outdoor conditions
  • Ability to think and react to changing conditions quickly and maintain a professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Must be comfortable working around energized utilities
  • Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • This position is considered a safety sensitive position; all new hires will be required to complete a pre-access evaluation that includes a drug and alcohol screening.

We are currently seeking candidates for 1A Equipment Operator/Construction Labourer positions.  Based out of Regina, travel will be required to rural locations, as services extend throughout Saskatchewan.

Description:

  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools and equipment including: plough CAT, backhoe, trencher, skid steer, hydroVAC, directional bore machine, digger derrick trucks, all-terrain track machine, crawler dozers, bobcats, forklift and trackhoe
  • Follow all safety procedures on the job site and report violations immediately to foreman.
  • Perform ground work, including digging trenches, site clearance
  • Cleaning and preparing a job site
  • Loading and delivering materials
  • Set up markers, cones and barricades and flag vehicles to control the traffic flow

Required:

  • Valid 1A Drivers license and reasonably clean driving abstract
  • Permanent Canadian resident
  • Previous experience operating the following: plough CAT, backhoe, trencher, skid steer, hydroVAC, directional bore machine, digger derrick trucks, all-terrain track machine, crawler dozers, bobcats, forklift and trackhoe
  • Two or more years of experience in construction
  • Ability to travel out of town during the week or on weekends when required
  • Ability to lift heavy tools and equipment
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • This position is considered a safety sensitive position; all new hires will be required to complete a pre-access evaluation that includes a hearing and drug and alcohol screening.

  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools and equipment including: backhoe, trencher, skid steer, hydroVAC, directional bore machine, digger derrick trucks, all-terrain track machine, crawler dozers, bobcats, forklift and trackhoe
  • Follow all safety procedures on the job site and report violations immediately to foreman.

Required:

  • Must have a valid Journeyman Power Line Technician Trade card from the SK Apprentice Board
  • A valid Class 1A or Class 5 license (clear driving abstract) is required with a 1A preferred.
