Red Seal Electrician – Regina

We are taking applications for Red Seal Electricians in Regina and surrounding rural area. This position will be based out of Regina; however, travel will be required as services extend throughout the surrounding rural area.

The successful candidate must be courteous and will professionally provide quality electrical services that include installing meter boxes, conduit, and adding expansion boxes to services.

Job Duties

  • Professionally represent Hundseth Power Line’s commitment to exceptional customer service on each service call.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical problems in residential and commercial electrical systems.
  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, maintain, service, and install equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Conduct all repairs and installations in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code.
  • Perform general and specific equipment inspections.
  • Follow specifications on blueprints or technical drawings for installations.
  • Perform routine maintenance on various systems as requested.
  • Set priorities and work assignments to meet established deadlines.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and procedures and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all modern equipment and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Must be a permanent Canadian resident.
  • Must be a Journeyperson Red Seal Electrician.
  • Must have a valid Saskatchewan driver’s license with a clean driver abstract
  • Over three years of experience and working knowledge of residential and commercial electrical systems.
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be physically capable of performing all work required.
  • Ability to lift heavy tools and equipment.
  • Ability to lift approximately 40 lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Ability to travel out of town during the week or on weekends as required.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • This position is considered a safety sensitive position; all new hires will be required to complete a pre-access test that includes a hearing and drug and alcohol screening.

Description:
• These positions perform a variety of assignments involved in all aspects of the installation, construction, troubleshooting, repairing, specialized testing, and maintenance of all overhead and underground distribution and transmission lines, switching stations, substations, communication networks, streetlight facilities, and infrastructure
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools and equipment including: backhoe, trencher, skid steer, directional bore machine, digger derrick trucks, all-terrain track machine, crawler dozers, bobcats, forklift and trackhoe
• Follow all safe operating procedures on the job site and report violations immediately to foreman.

Required:

  • Valid Class 1A driver’s license (clean driving abstract) is required.
  • Previous experience operating the following: backhoe, trencher, skid steer, HydroVAC, directional bore machine, digger derrick trucks, all-terrain track machine, crawler dozers, bobcats, forklift and trackhoe is considered an asset.
  • Three or more years of experience in construction.
  • Ability to travel out of town during the week or on weekends as required.

Heavy Equipment Mechanic – REGINA

We are currently seeking a 4th year or Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic.  This position will be based out of Regina, however, travel may be required as services extend throughout the province.

The successful candidate is responsible for providing mechanical and technical direction and service to the HPL fleet, and will be expected to prioritize, organize, coordinate, inspect, and repair all equipment to ensure the work is completed to manufacturer specifications and applicable legislation.  Field service may be required in all climate conditions.

The successful candidate will be a motivated, self starter who will also actively assist other team members in our fast paced mechanic shop and equipment yard.  Reliable and accountable, the successful candidate will inspect vehicles and heavy-duty equipment, troubleshoot and diagnose, perform routine maintenance, and complete necessary repairs, focused on completion of shop projects in a safe, professional, and time efficient manner.  Candidates with up to three or more years of heavy duty mechanic experience are preferred.

Work is physically demanding.  We offer a mentorship culture like no other, with competitive compensation and an extensive benefits and retirement plan.  We supply all personal protective equipment, although the successful candidate will be required to bring their own tools.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Up to three (3) years of experience completing mechanical repair and maintenance of vehicles and heavy equipment such as backhoes, trackhoes, trenchers, front-end loaders, digger derricks, forklifts, directional bores, hydrovacs, etc.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, dismantle, align, assemble and adjust mechanical equipment and machinery to maintain it in efficient operating condition.
  • Perform basic maintenance, including changing motor oil, rotating tires, and checking fluid levels.
  • Repair or replace worn parts and systems.
  • Follow checklists to ensure thorough examination of all parts and systems.
  • Identify mechanical and electrical problems with both manual and computerized diagnostic equipment.
  • Perform repairs thoroughly and accurately.
  • Other responsibilities based on priority of shop work.

Requirements:

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Must hold a valid class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver abstract (class 1A is preferred).
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a postsecondary program in heavy equipment mechanical repair.
  • Experience with electronic systems maintenance and repair.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Physical strength and stamina, and the ability to lift over 50 pounds.
  • This position is considered a safety sensitive position; the successful applicant will be required to complete pre-employment medical testing that includes a drug and alcohol screening.

Gas Fusion Technician – Regina

We are currently seeking a Gas Fusion Technician – Regina who has experience working with SaskEnergy distribution lines/Service installations.  Travel is required as services may extend throughout Regina and surrounding area.

Description of job duties:

  • Safely perform ground work, including digging trenches, site clearance, cleaning and preparing job sites
  • Loading and delivering materials
  • Set up markers, cones and barricades and flag vehicles to control the traffic flow
  • Follow all safe operating procedures on the job site and report violations immediately to foreman.
  • Operate a variety of hand tools and equipment including: backhoe, trencher, skid steer, directional bore machine, digger derrick trucks, all-terrain track machine, crawler dozers, bobcats, forklift and trackhoe would be considered highly beneficial.

Required:

  • Must have a valid Plastic Gas Fusion Qualification card (Sask Energy Gas Fusion ticket) and Class 5 driver’s license (clean driving abstract).
